A Sensory Garden

How about creating a sensory garden?Connection with nature being one of the most powerful tools to manage and even overcome depression, sadness, stress or to rediscover sensations one may have forgotten, especially for people who are affected with dementia, sensory gardens may bring back feelings of belonging, recognition, deep connection and energies rebalancing. All senses are involved: Seeing plants with vibrant colours and peacefully observing wildlife affects our brains in a very positive way. Touching a rose petal, tasting a mint leaf, smelling the aroma of lavender, listening to birds’ melodious singing deeply impacts our health and wellbeing. So even if it is only a small pot on the windowsill, anyone can start reconnecting with nature and feel the benefits of mindful appreciation of its wonders.
